Groundworker trainee

About the job

In 3 weeks you learn a trade, earn 5 certificates, and start working right away. As a groundworker trainee at AB Vakschool in Middenmeer, you learn mainly by doing. You practice on a mini excavator, work with lasers, and get guidance from an experienced professional. Groups have a maximum of 3 participants, so you get a lot of personal attention. If you complete the training successfully, you receive a bonus of €1,000.

What you'll do

• Work and dig with a mini excavator
• Measure and set out using lasers and spirit levels
• Read and use simple construction drawings
• Carry out various groundwork tasks
• Work safely on and around a construction site

What we ask

• Category B driving licence and your own transport
• Good command of the Dutch language
• Motivation to work outdoors and learn the trade hands-on

What we offer

• Salary of €2,598 gross per month (based on full-time hours)
• €1,000 bonus after successfully completing AB Vakschool
• Free training and 5 certificates worth €3,200: Groundworker, VCA Basis (basic safety certificate), Mini excavator operation, Cable and pipe damage-free digging under WIBON regulations, Safe working near roads
• Travel cost reimbursement: €0.23 per kilometre
• After completing the training, you go straight into a full-time job as a groundworker at an infrastructure company, with the prospect of a permanent contract
• Training lasts 3 weeks at AB Vakschool's own practice site in Middenmeer, in groups of no more than 3
