Refuse truck driver / waste loader

About the job

You drive a compactor refuse truck (kraakpers) and collect commercial waste from shops, offices, factories and construction sites in the Rotterdam area. You work as a pair with a loader. Together you are responsible for completing the route. This is active, physical work outdoors in all weather conditions.

What you'll do

• Drive a compactor refuse truck on a set route
• Collect commercial waste from shops, offices, factories and construction sites
• Review the route with the loader at the start of the day
• Position full containers next to the truck for automatic emptying
• Keep safety in mind while driving and on the route
• Return to base after finishing the route or when the truck is full
• Work closely with the loader throughout the shift

What we ask

• Category C driving licence, code 95 and a driver card (tachograph card). If your card has expired, help with renewal may be possible
• Valid VCA certificate (a safety certification required for working on worksites in the Netherlands), or willingness to obtain one
• Own transport (car, scooter or bicycle) to reach the work location
• Living near Rotterdam
• Available full time
• Flexible with start times between 05:00 and 07:00. End time varies
• Good physical condition and willing to work outside in all weather

What we offer

• Gross salary from €3,371.90 (D3) to €3,567.93 (D6) per month, depending on experience (€18.23 to €20.51 gross per hour, including a 1.35% ADV allowance)
• Net TLN allowance of €147.90 per month (€0.85/h)
• Weekly pay
• 8% vakantiegeld (holiday pay, a statutory bonus paid on top of your salary) paid in May
• 24 days of annual leave (pro rata for part-time hours)
• Travel cost reimbursement of €0.23 per km (from 10 km one way)
• Possibility of a direct contract with the opdrachtgever (the end client)
• Career step: possibility to move to a haakarm/portaalwagen truck driver role
