Greenhouse Worker

About the job

This is a hands-on role in a greenhouse in Wageningen. You work in a team on different growing processes and plant care. You also support important agricultural research and development work. Working hours: 08:00–17:00, Monday to Friday.

What you'll do

• Collect data in the greenhouse every day and enter it accurately into the system
• Help with planting and starting up crops at set times of the year
• Carry out a wide range of plant care tasks: sowing, watering, turning plants, lowering plants, planting, removing leaves, vibrating trusses, and harvesting crops and seeds
• Stay organised and double-check your work to make sure everything is accurate
• Keep the greenhouse and work areas clean and tidy
• Work with the team to prepare tests and help with other logistical tasks

What we ask

• You arrange your own housing and transport to work
• Experience in seed companies, or a background or experience in agriculture
• Good spoken and written English and/or Dutch, and able to understand instructions in both forms
• You follow health and safety rules and phytosanitary (plant health protection) regulations while working
• You can work independently and as part of a team, and communicate well

What we offer

• Gross hourly rate: €15.87
• Travel allowance: €0.23 per km
• Overtime supplement: 140% for hours above 38 per week
• Vakantiegeld (holiday pay, a standard Dutch supplement) of 8.33% and 25 vacation days per year
