Rotterdam
€17,00 /hrFull-timeEnglishRotating shifts

About the job

As a road marking installer, you make sure that roadworks, events and temporary diversions run safely. You go out with your team to place, maintain and remove road signs, barriers and diversion markings. No two days are the same. One day you set up a temporary diversion at a construction site, the next you organise traffic flow around an event. You work at different locations, you have a lot of independence, and you see the results of your work right away.

What you'll do

  • Place, maintain and remove temporary road signs, barriers and diversion markings
  • Read work drawings and decide where to position the signs
  • Prepare the work and load and unload work vans and trailers
  • Carry out work safely at different project locations
  • Check and maintain installed markings
  • Communicate with colleagues, planners and project coordinators
  • Close off completed orders in the administration

You work an average of 40 hours a week. Start time is between 06:00 and 08:00. Once every six weeks you are on evening, night and weekend standby. You always know well in advance when this is.

What we ask

  • Category B driving licence, preferably extended with BE; category C is a bonus
  • A practical, technical mindset
  • Physical fitness for outdoor work, including lifting and loading and unloading
  • Willingness to work evenings, nights and weekends once every six weeks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Accuracy, a sense of responsibility and attention to safety
  • Living within a reasonable distance of the base in Rotterdam
  • No previous experience with road marking is needed. If you have a technical interest and enjoy working outdoors, you can learn the trade on the job
