Mechanical Operator
About the job
The client works in the circular economy sector. Every day they process waste streams into renewable energy and secondary raw materials. As a Mechanical Operator, you are responsible for running the production process safely, stably and efficiently. You work both in the control room and directly at the installations.
What you'll do
- Monitor and optimise the combustion and energy generation process
- Detect, analyse and resolve process deviations and breakdowns
- Operate installations for combustion, flue gas cleaning and energy generation
- Carry out inspections, checks and measurements
- Record and analyse process data
- Start up, shut down and secure installation components
- Help develop technical improvements and process optimisations
- Advise colleagues and supervisors on operational matters
Shift system
You work in a rotating 6-shift system where work and time off are well balanced.
The rotation consists of:
1. 3 morning shifts, 2 afternoon shifts, 2 night shifts, weekend off
2. 2 morning shifts, 3 afternoon shifts, 2 night shifts, weekend off
3. 2 morning shifts, 2 afternoon shifts, 3 night shifts, weekend off
You also take on a standby duty period of around seven days at regular intervals. During this period you can be called in for sick cover, training or other situations that arise from the schedule.
What we ask
- MBO+ level of education and thinking
- Field of study: AOT, REWIC, Process Technology or similar
- Experience as an operator in process industry, energy generation or utilities
- Knowledge of turbines, generators or similar installations is a plus
- Analytical approach and focus on quality
- Good communication skills
- Problem-solving ability and a sense of responsibility
