Process Operator Chemistry

About the job

As a process operator in the chemical industry, you work a 5-shift schedule. Together with your team, you make sure the production process runs safely and smoothly.

What you'll do

• You operate, monitor and adjust process installations from the control room and on the production floor
• You do inspection rounds and check installations, process parameters and logged technical events
• You analyse process deviations and take the right steps to bring the process back to a safe and stable state
• You take samples, assess the results and adjust the process when needed
• You prepare installations for maintenance work and make sure that work can be done safely
• You isolate and secure parts of the installation following the correct procedures
• You check work permits and confirm that work can start safely
• You record important process information and hand over accurately to the next shift
• You take part in continuous improvement on safety, quality, reliability and efficiency

What we ask

• A completed mbo (Dutch vocational education) level 3 or 4 in process technology, operational engineering or a related field
• Preferred qualifications: VAPRO B, VAPRO C or equivalent (Dutch process operator certificates)
• Experience as a process operator in chemicals, energy or the process industry is a plus
• Technical knowledge and an interest in complex production installations
• Ability to analyse process deviations in a structured way
• Accurate and safety-focused way of working
• Willing to work a 5-shift schedule
• Willing to obtain the required safety and job-related certificates
• Good communication skills for working with the team and handing over shifts
