Bridge and Lock Technician

About the job

As a bridge and lock technician, you play an important role in maintaining and improving Dutch infrastructure. Every day you work on complex installations such as bridges, locks, and pumping stations. These are essential for safe and efficient water management. Your work keeps everything running and keeps the Netherlands dry.

What you'll do

• Carry out maintenance and repairs on complex electrical and mechanical installations in the field.
• Test, commission, calibrate, and repair (parts of) installations.
• Fix breakdowns and take part in on-call shifts on a 24/7 schedule.
• Expand, reinstall, and thoroughly test installations.
• Work together with colleagues and coach new technicians.

What we ask

• At least an intermediate technical qualification (mbo) in mechanics, mechatronics, or electrical engineering.
• Driving licence category B.
• Willingness to obtain a VCA certificate (a Dutch safety certificate for working on construction and industrial sites) if required.
• No fear of heights and ability to work safely near water.
• Ability to use digital tools, or willingness to learn quickly.

What we offer

• Salary from €2,800 to €3,600 gross per month.
• Fixed-term contract with the prospect of permanent employment.
• Full time: 32 to 40 hours per week.
