Electrode Welder Offshore (SMAW/MMA)

About the job

For various offshore projects in the North Sea, we are looking for an Electrode Welder (SMAW/MMA). In this role you carry out maintenance, repair and construction work on production platforms, installations and support structures. Safety, quality and skill come first.

What you'll do

• Carry out welding work using the SMAW/MMA method (electrode welding)
• Weld carbon steel, stainless steel and other structural materials
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on offshore structures
• Work from technical drawings, WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) and welding specifications
• Inspect and check the quality of welds
• Follow offshore safety procedures and quality standards
• Work together with fitters, pipefitters, structural steel workers and supervisors

What we ask

• Proven experience as an electrode welder, preferably in offshore, petrochemical or heavy industry
• Valid welding certificates in line with EN ISO 9606-1 or equivalent
• Experience with positional welding (HL-045, PF and PD is a plus)
• Valid BOSIET certificate including CA-EBS
• Valid offshore medical certificate
• VCA VOL (VCA is a Dutch safety certificate for working in hazardous environments; VOL is the full version for supervisors and independent workers)
• Good command of Dutch or English
• Flexible attitude and willingness to work day and night shifts
