Technical Production Team Leader

About the job

The client is a well-known company in the facade industry in Staphorst, specialised in commercial construction. We are looking for a Technical Production Team Leader to play a key role in the production department. The department has four specialist teams: machining of aluminium and steel profiles (5-axis CNC centre), assembly of windows, doors and sliding doors, structural facades, and cladding elements.

What you'll do

• Advise on the production capacity, resources and knowledge needed
• Give technical advice on the production process and suggest solutions for feasibility, material selection and working methods
• Act as the main contact for the team on progress and problems
• Lead team members and give clear instructions
• Monitor progress and quality, and step in when things go off track
• Coordinate the order of work for the best efficiency
• Make sure materials and resources are available on time
• Discuss deviations and problems with your manager
• Coach and motivate employees to reach their goals
• Correct behaviour when needed and look after team dynamics
• Monitor work and make adjustments where necessary
• Play an active role in planning the development of team members
• Spot opportunities to improve procedures and instructions
• Take part in improvement projects and contribute to them
• Implement improvements and communicate changes clearly
• Encourage colleagues to put forward ideas for improvement
• Make sure the workplace is safe and report any safety gaps
• Follow health and safety rules and step in when you see a dangerous situation
• Give instructions and make sure safety rules are followed

What we ask

• Thinking and working level of at least MBO/MBO+ (Dutch vocational education, roughly equivalent to a vocational college diploma)
• Knowledge of production processes
• Knowledge of internal processes, procedures and health and safety rules
• Living in or near Staphorst, Rouveen, Nieuwleusen, Hasselt, Meppel, IJhorst, De Wijk, Zwolle, Zwartsluis, Steenwijk, Hoogeveen or Balkbrug

What we offer

• You start on a contract through an uitzendbureau (staffing agency), with the prospect of a direct contract with the client if both sides are happy with how things go
• Gross pay based on your knowledge and experience (the stated hourly rate applies from age 21)
