Freelance Wind Turbine Technician

About the job

As a wind turbine technician you carry out and supervise complex technical work on modern wind turbines. You work on both mechanical and electrical systems. On larger projects you take the lead, keep safety in order, and support less experienced colleagues.

What you'll do

• Carry out maintenance and repairs on wind turbines
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
• Supervise and coach junior technicians
• Work according to GWO guidelines and safety procedures

What we ask

• Vocational training (BO level) in electrical engineering or a related field
• GWO certificates (Working at Heights, Basic Safety Training, etc.)
• Experience in wind turbine maintenance and repair
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Valid VAT identification number (Btw-identificatienummer)
• Current KvK extract (not older than 3 months) - KvK is the Dutch Chamber of Commerce register for self-employed workers
• Valid business liability insurance (bedrijfsaansprakelijkheidsverzekering)
• Declaration of compliance with tax obligations
• VCA VOL certificate - VCA is a Dutch safety certification for contractors working in high-risk environments; VOL is the full version for supervisors
• Category B driving licence, own transport, and own tools (including hand tools)
• Personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Own registered company with a KvK registration
