Production Worker - Fresh Vegetables and Fruit

About the job

The client is a specialist in fresh vegetables and fruit, in business for over 65 years. From their modern facility in Ridderkerk, fresh products go out every day to restaurants, catering companies and other food service customers across the Netherlands. You work in a cooled, modern production hall with a team of more than 350 people.

What you'll do

• Peeling, stoning and preparing raw vegetables and fruit
• Cutting vegetables and fruit by hand and/or by machine
• Carefully packing and repacking products
• Assembling salads and ready-made meals on the production line
• Filling containers by hand according to instructions
• Checking weight, labels, best-before dates and packaging seals
• Cleaning and maintaining machines and tools at the end of each day

You work Monday to Saturday, with two days off per week. Two Saturdays per month are working days. Your shift starts between 06:00 and 08:00 and ends between 16:00 and 17:00.

What we ask

• A thinking and working level equivalent to MBO (Dutch intermediate vocational education)
• Experience as a production worker, operator, packer or similar role in production or food is a plus
• Able to work independently and accurately, also at a fast pace
• Good command of Dutch or English
• Flexible and willing to work on Saturdays
• Living within 30 km of Ridderkerk
• Good physical condition and no objections to working in a cool environment

What we offer

• Gross hourly rate from €14.99 to €19.44, depending on experience and performance
• Travel cost reimbursement from 10 km one way
• Full time: 38 to 45 hours per week
• 8% vakantiegeld (holiday allowance, a statutory annual bonus) and 25 days of leave per year
