Breakdown Mechanic / Electrician (3-shift)

Do you want to work as a breakdown mechanic in a technical production environment, where your knowledge and skills directly affect how smoothly production runs? In Zoutkamp you work with modern machinery in the food industry. You are responsible for fixing breakdowns, carrying out maintenance, and making technical improvements. You work independently, use a range of techniques, and together with your colleagues you make sure production runs safely and reliably.
As a breakdown mechanic you keep the machinery in good technical condition. You analyse faults, carry out maintenance, and make sure production interruptions are resolved as quickly as possible. You do not just look for quick fixes. You dig into the root cause of faults and introduce improvements that actively make the production process more reliable.
What you'll do
- Find, analyse, and fix mechanical and electrical faults
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on production lines
- Work on installations such as packaging machines, conveyor belts, pumps, motors, and sensors
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled installations
- Carry out technical inspections and checks
- Help develop improvements aimed at structurally reducing the number of breakdowns
- Work together with operators and other mechanics to resolve technical problems quickly
- Record completed work and faults in the maintenance system
- Make sure work is carried out safely and in line with the applicable quality and hygiene requirements
What we ask
- Completed MBO-3 or MBO-4 vocational education (Dutch secondary vocational level) in mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
- Experience as a breakdown mechanic, maintenance mechanic, or service mechanic in a production environment
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering
- Interest in control technology and automated installations
- An independent way of working and a problem-solving attitude
- Ability to respond quickly during technical breakdowns
- Willingness to work in a 3-shift system
- Experience in the food industry is a plus, but mechanics from other industrial backgrounds are also welcome
