Junior Bridge and Lock Maintenance Technician

About the job

As a junior bridge and lock maintenance technician, you work on keeping infrastructure in the Netherlands reliable and safe. You work on moving installations such as bridges, locks, and pumping stations. You make sure they run safely and properly. You work in Heerenveen.

What you'll do

• Carry out maintenance: you repair and maintain complex installations in the field.
• Test installations: you start up installations, calibrate them, and carry out precise repairs.
• Fix faults: you analyse and solve breakdowns, and you take part in on-call shifts on a 24/7 schedule.
• Assemble and disassemble installations: you take installations apart and put them back together, then test them carefully to confirm they work correctly.
• Support colleagues: you work as part of a team and help new technicians in a coaching way.

What we ask

• At least an MBO diploma (Dutch vocational qualification, level 2-4) in mechanics, mechatronics, or electrical engineering.
• Category B driving licence.
• VCA certificate (Dutch safety certificate for working on construction and industrial sites), or willingness to obtain it.
• No fear of heights and ability to work safely near water.
• Familiarity with digital tools, or willingness to learn them quickly.
