Drainage Technician (trainee)

About the job

Do you want to learn a technical trade and work hands-on from day one? As a trainee drainage technician, you learn how to find and fix problems with sewer and drainage systems. You work in the Friesland region, visiting private customers and businesses. You do not need to be an experienced technician. With the right attitude, a feel for technical work, and support from your colleagues, you will pick everything up on the job.

What you'll do

• Unblocking and cleaning drains using modern equipment
• Carrying out camera inspections to locate faults
• Finding the source of smells and leaks using specialist techniques
• Laying, replacing, and repairing drainage pipes on various projects
• Advising customers: explaining the work done and suggesting preventive solutions
• Working Monday to Friday, usually 08:00 to 16:30, sometimes with flexibility to finish a job

What we ask

• Category B driving licence (you work on the road every day)
• Good physical fitness and willingness to respond to emergency call-outs
• A feel for technical work and an ability to solve problems
• Flexibility in working hours and tasks
• Willingness to learn modern techniques

What we offer

• Gross hourly rate of €17.00 to €20.00, excluding allowances
• Temporary contract with the prospect of a permanent position
• 38 to 40 hour working week
